  Isekai has always been a genre that fascinates me. It is just such an egocentric genre; The protagonist is by default the chosen one out of all 7.7 billion human beings on earth, so as to fight the battle in this new world. They will be inherently special as compared to the beings of this new land, often time with exclusive knowledge that will provide revolutionary aid or some gifted specializations that allows them to have no equal. The term "self-insert protagonist" or "power-fantasies" are thus common descriptions we use to classify these isekai titles. In fact, isekai as a whole has gotten quite a bad reputation because of that. I, for one, love isekai in spite of that. Instead of being distracted by too many different elements, it having an egocentric nature allows for all the attention to be focused on developing one singular character.   'Remake our life!' has been a surprising delight and is definitely one of my favorite premieres that came out this season. It has an interesting premise similar to Re-life with the protagonist reliving loss time; It has set itself in a college setting focused around the arts, lending it more potential to discuss some of the broader themes of the creative industry; It has also been a hella long time since I last enjoyed a show centered around character dorm-interactions (Which should itself be one of the greatest sub-genres of all SOLs). And lastly, its first episode is a whopping fifty minutes! Which might as well just be the writers announcing out to the public: "Hey look! We CARE about this show!" Though like my analytical hero, Th8ta from Nearly on Red, once said: "There is a reason why the show writers find the need to have a double-length feature for their premiere." And so, we have come to the end of 86. I must say, what a journey this has been for me. Not just the show itself, but I have grown as a person watching it. I know that sounds cheesy as hell, but the truth is, I am so used to being a passive consumer, almost to a point of being an avid addict in my teenage years, mindlessly consuming Youtube and livestreams even till the point where I sometimes feel anxiety. And I still am doing so, but these past three months of watching 86 has changed me. I have vigorously enveloped myself around this show, analyzing every single detail it offers, writing essays that I am proud of and even learning a new skill with my recent video essay. I don't even feel bad for watching its episodes over and over again, an action that I would usually berate myself for wasting precious time.
